I started at Rinn just a few months ago. I am an ordained American Baptist Pastor cross credentialed in the United Methodist Church. My previous appointments include Wiley and McClave United Methodist Churches and the Chugwater/Wheatland, Wyoming charge. Prior to this, I worked as a college professor in the field of communication studies for 25-years. I taught media production and have produced documentaries and videos for church organizations. I have a Ph.D. from the University of Utah, a Masters of Divinity from the Graduate Theological Union, and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Walla Walla (in theology).

My wife, Reverend Claire Cassell, serves as a Lutheran Hospital Chaplain in Lakewood and in pastoral care at Abiding Hope Lutheran Church in Littleton. We have two small dogs, Murphy, a Boston Terrier, and Gracie, a papillon.

I am excited about the ministry at Rinn UMC, the "church on the highway." This congregation is vibrant, diverse, and engaging. I hope you will join us for worship or one of our other church activities.

I'm delighted to have joined the staff at Rinn in December 2019. I have worked in a few small churches along the way and am excited to bring my administrative skills here to serve Pastor Robin and the people of Rinn! I'm new to Colorado, having moved here from California in October 2019. I'm adjusting to the cold (brrrr!!) weather while absolutely loving the beauty of the Front Range!

I am thrilled to be involved in your music department as the new choir director. I have been singing since I was a little girl—singing trios with my sisters and in kids’ choir in church (with my mom leading). I am a total “choir geek” and look forward to this adventure in making beautiful music!

We are pleased to introduce our new caretaker, Cody Johnson. Cody was raised in the area and graduated from Frederick high school. He has worked in a variety of jobs in groundskeeping, construction, janitorial, and farming. Cody currently operates his own landscaping business, CDJ Lawn Care. He is single and has two dogs. His mother, Melody, will be living in the parsonage with him. Melody currently works for Jefferson County schools. We look forward to a long working relationship.
